Gaming and lotteries – activity results after 9 months of 2024
Gaming operation results
The gross gaming revenue (GGR) of the Lithuanian gaming market in the first 9 months of 2024 amounted to EUR 175 million, which is an increase of 8.7% compared to the first 9 months of 2023, and was generated as follows:
EUR 52 million came from land-based gaming venues (30 % of GGR);
123 million Eur – from remote gambling (70 % of GGR).
Remote gaming GGR increased by 14.7 per cent (or EUR 15.8 million) in the first 9 months of 2024 compared to the first 9 months of 2023.
Remote gaming is a growing segment, reflecting the increasing use of the internet and technological advances.
In land-based gaming, GGR decreased by 3.1% (EUR 1.7 million) over the same period.
Lotteries activity results
In the first 9 months of 2024, lottery tickets distribution amounted EUR 106.1 million, and it is an increase of 3.9% compared to the first 9 months of 2023.
Lotteries winnings paid out amounted to EUR 57.2 million, ant it was therefore 2.7% higher than in compared 9 months of 2023.
Lottery and gaming tax collection increased
In the first 9 months of 2024, the Lithuanian budget collected EUR 55 812400 received from lottery and gaming tax, and it shows an increase by EUR 6.2 million compared to 9 months of 2023:
EUR 19 671 091 was paid by the organisers of national lotteries;
EUR 36 141 309 was paid by the gaming operators.
