Communication to providers of gaming platforms/software/products - about cooperation with unlicensed operators

The Gaming Control Authority under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania (hereinafter – Gaming Control Authority) sent a regular communication to providers of gaming platforms/software/products about their possible cooperation with unlicensed operators, offering online gambling services without being properly licensed for this activity in Lithuania.

Gambling operation order in Lithuania is established in the Gaming Law of the Republic of Lithuania (hereinafter – Gaming Law). According to the Gaming Law, the right to organise remote gaming in the Republic of Lithuania shall be given to those companies that were granted the gaming licence as per the procedure established in this law.

In accordance with requirements of the Gaming Law, strict legal actions shall be taken against gambling operators who organize remote gambling illegally and targeting the Republic of Lithuania, i. e. domain blocking, payment blocking and blacklisting of the illegal gambling company and the appropriate website.

During investigations of online gaming offers the Gaming Control Authority identified gaming platforms/software/products which are used by entities offering remote gaming in the Republic of Lithuania illegally, i.e. without being properly licensed for such activity in the Republic of Lithuania.

In their communication the Gaming Control Authority recommended the platforms/software/products providers to stop providing services for gambling operators providing gambling services illegally in the Republic of Lithuania also invited them for cooperation in order to ensure due observance of the national regulation.

The list of illegal gambling operators is published on the website of the Gaming Control Authority. The list of gaming operating companies which have a permit to organize remote gambling is published on the website as well.
